Subtitling

Subtitle translation is a very particular skill. It requires not only excellent translation ability, but an understanding of the subtitling process with its unique time and space constraints, and the way in which spoken dialogue is converted to the written word.

I am a highly experienced subtitler, having worked in house for Visiontext for five years. I also teach subtitling part time on Leeds University's MA in Audiovisual Translation Studies and recently gave a webinar on the subject for eCPD Webinars.
